Enjoy one of the most interesting, vintage railroad crossings from my polish railway video archive :) Timestamps: 0:00 - Introduction, a short crossing overview, detailed shots of the southern signal 1:28 - KD 69213 regional train from Dzierżoniów Śląski to Wrocław, operated by SA139-013 EMU 3:13 - Longer crossing overview, detailed shots of the northern signal 4:32 - KD 69126 regional train from Legnica to Międzylesie, operated by SA135-004 diesel railcar 6:00 - KD 69152 regional train from Międzylesie to Legnica, operated by SA135-002 diesel railcar 8:12 - 2020 – railroad crossing after modernization. 9:14 - Epilogue Railroad crossing on Węglowa street in Jaworzyna Śląska (category C – gateless automatic), when I first visited it in March 2017, featured an awesome, vintage signals setup from 1970s/early 1980s: COB-63A relay-based control system and two single-light 200 mm / 8 inch EHZ-13 signals, with additional two EHZ-12 signals installed on the side-mounted consoles. The setup also included two bells: electronic KLD-4103 and mechanical KLD-4013 (which unfortunately didn't work due to torn power cable, visible in the video). Basically, the crossing setup consisted of: -Control system: COB-63A -Track sensors: CTI-3 -Signals: 2x EHZ-13 + 2x EHZ-12 (side-mounted) -Bells: KLD-4103, KLD-4013 (out of order) Railroad crossing on Węglowa street included some unique features, such as additional anti-vandalism protection of the glass signal lenses (on the northern signal) and extravagant wiring of the signals, which resulted in rather weird blinking patterns (of the two light bulbs in every light, each one was wired on a circuit of a different blinker relay). Vintage signals on Węglowa Street remained in service most likely till the second half of 2017. Afterwards, the crossing got a minor modernization with both EHZ-12/13 signals replaced with modern, double-light 300 mm / 12 inch Monat SD-1M lights. Old COB-63A control system still remained in service and didn't receive any upgrades whatsoever. As a result, new signals got both lights flashing at the same time instead of modern, alternating pattern. Unfortunately, I don't have any materials from this period of the crossing's history (it can be seen on some cabview videos on youtube). In march 2020 the crossing got another, this time pretty complex modernization, conducted by Bombardier Transportation. COB-63A control system got replaced with its modern, computerized counterpart type SPA-5 and four separate LED EHZ-82 signals were installed. The crossing also got CCTV system and new street lighting. A few quick shots of modernized crossing are provided at the end of the video to give an opportunity for comparison between old and new signals. Shot on 19th March 2017 and 10th May 2020 Huge thanks to my parents for making this video possible :) Music used in the video: Beckoning - Telecasted from youtube audio library
